Discover the art of photography with just your smartphone! This class focuses on developing your creative eye and telling stories through pictures, no fancy equipment required. Through hands-on activities, you’ll explore composition techniques, lighting tips, and fun challenges that make photography approachable and exciting. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this class is all about expressing yourself, experimenting with visual storytelling, and capturing the world in new ways. *Optional if you have one; a Polaroid camera! Ms.Skyler will be bringing hers to share for certain classes.

Students will need:
Curriculum will be provided by the Instructor.
Students should have a smartphone with a working camera!

Capture, Create, Share:
Week 1- lets walk through the history of photography during this lesson, you will make a collage and draw a picture that tells us all about you! You will take a photo with the polaroid camera and add you in!
Week 2- Go over photo vocab (to get used to taking pictures we will go on a hunt using our 5 senses to take picture all pictures will included a picture that shows what you can smell, taste, hear, see, touch)
Week 3- Black and white day. Using your camera take pictures of things only using the setting black and white
Week 4- Film Day! Using your disposable camera (provided by the instructor)
Week 5- Landscape challenge/ talking about lighting
Week 6- You get to be the photographer for the day! You get to take head shots of teachers, students and parents
Week 7- Color/ Portrait mode
Week 8- Forced Perspective
Week 9- Macro Photography (talk about flat lay bring in objects for next week)
Week 10- Flat Lay
Week 11- Take a photo to illustrate a bible verse that describes God or his creation (example “the heaven declare His glory- picture of a sunrise
Week 12- He is Risen! Take pictures that tell the story of resurrection
Week 13- Photo Scavenger hunt
Week 14- Photo Bio (take one picture that describes yourself but you can't take a selfie We will also this class pick 10 of your favorite photos to make your photo journal
Week 15- Photo Journal
Week 16-Photo Journal
